Fall Back

60-year old woman fell backwards off of a 6 foot high stone wall.

Trimalleolar fracture with dislocation pre and post films.



You can see on the medial side where the fibula was sticking through her skin.

That has got to be the nastiest ankle I have ever seen, wow! But also, do you really do portable ankle films? Our radiographers would refuse to do anything other than chest x-rays with the mobile machine. Which does not stop the docs trying to request mobile CT, OPG, MRI, etc.

Yeah, we do everything portable. Except CT and MRI (cause the machines aren't really "portable"). I'd rather do port films, it's easier, if the pts in bad shape. If they're going to crash I want them to do it in the ER or OR and not in the x-ray dept with 'lil 'ol me. :)

Just thought I'd let you know you the Tibia and Fibula are in the leg, not the ulna and radius, but cool pictures!
