Summer's End

I know this post is a little late - it's the middle of Sept., but I wanted to show off some of my garden........again.

Royal Golden Melon - It grew twice as big as this and turned bright orangy-gold. Mmmm and so sweet too!

Strawberry Jam

I made strawberry jam last week. The strawberries were from my own garden! This was a great year for strawberries. There were tons! Too bad the season is already over. Now the black raspberries have started!

First Tomater

I GOT MY FIRST TOMATO!!

I've had tomatoes before, I'm

not a total cretin)

Yay!

And I ate it.

With salt.

It was good.

Tomatoey.

And it was a small tomato, like I said before,

I don't have giant hands! Really! I swear!

Allium Blooms

Taking over from the tulips, the allium in my front yard are starting to bloom.
Some of the plants are 3 feet tall!

I used coco hull mulch on this area. It smells so good! Like hot chocolate.


My little water garden. I planted 2 water plants on Sat.
They are already sending up little shoots.

Potato Experiment

The great potato experiment had a little setback. The garbage can container fell over during a storm, so I moved the potatoes and dirt to a different container. Nothing's sprouted from that box though.....






This last box needs to have more dirt piled up on the shoots ASAP! Adding that to my to do list. Don't they look nice, though?
