- CR - computed radiography, digital capture of rad images
- CT - computed tomography
- CXR - chest x-ray
- Dept - department
- Dr - doctor
- ETOH - drunk/alcohol
- LAT - lateral i.e. side
- Med-eo - person who works in health care, with direct pt contact
- PA - posterior/anterior i.e. back to front
- PACS - picture archiving and communication systems
- pigg-o-stat - device used to restrain infants
- port - portable xray done outside the dept.
- port mach - portable x-ray machine used to take x-ray outside dept.
- Pt or Pts - patient or patients
- rad - anything having to do with radiology
- Rad - radiologist, doctor that reads x-rays
- rad tech - radiologic technologist
- US - ultrasound
